"Canine officers and their partners are essential to the successful operation of a modern police department. Members of our Canine Unit have not only met the national standards of the United States Police K-9 Association, but they have also distinguished themselves in national competitions and outstanding case awards. Collectively, they have produced five U.S.P.C.A. national team champions, three U.S.P.C.A. national individual patrol dog champions, and over three hundred national, regional, or department awards for quality police performance. . . . It is fitting that this book comes out on the Unit's 50th anniversary as well as the sesquicentennial year of the State of Minnesota. This book brings to life the work, the triumphs, and the tragedies of the men and women working with their canine partners."
-John M. Harrington, Chief of Police, Saint Paul Police Department.

This book is a Minnesota Sesquicentennial Book.
